I am a Ft. Lauderdale native and a St. Anthony alumnus. I attended St. Anthony School from 1st to 8th Grade and graduated in 1986. I then went on to St. Thomas Aquinas High School, and from there to Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL. I earned a dual degree in Elementary Education and Specific Learning Disabilities.
I began teaching 2nd Grade at St. Anthony in 1996 (alongside Mrs. Maus!) and taught for 8 years before I had my first daughter, Molly, who is now in 8th Grade at SAS. I always kept my foot in the door and returned to substitute and cover some maternity leaves over the years. My second daughter, Abigail, was born in 2007 and when she began Pre-K3, I returned to work full time as the school Librarian. I enjoyed this role very much, but missed the classroom, so when there was an opening back in the classroom, I jumped on the opportunity.
I live in Victoria Park with my 2 girls and my husband Tom and our Golden Retriever, Rocky. St. Anthony School and parish have always been my second home, since I received all my sacraments here, and had my daughters baptized here. My mother, Elaine Patterson, was a teacher here for many years, and was the principal for 17 years. I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful community and family and I look forward to a fantastic, fulfilling, and fun year with you and your child.
